Metaphysics, Mysticsm & Self-Awareness Course

This innovative course in Metaphysics, Mysticism & Self-Awareness is designed for the student who is prepared to follow a non-dogmatic spiritual path that reawakens and integrates Spirit, Heart, Emotions, and the Body. Spiritual understandings will be discovered through the practice of Kriya Yoga; the mind will be trained through Raja Yoga; emotional understandings will be grounded in Transpersonal & Body-centered Psychology.

The complete course consists of four components of several levels each. If a student is willing to commit to this path, the cumulative result is wisdom that creates a strong spiritual foundation. The practices aid a student in moving expansively toward wholeness and healing.

You may begin Basic Level One without knowing how far to pursue the studies. Your teacher is available to aid you in making an appropriate choice concerning further and deeper study.

Discovering Real Purpose in Life by Robert Blond

What is your Soul's purpose this lifetime? Why are you really here? Your deeper inner purpose is probably much more profound than you can imagine. If you feel that you know what it is, are you doing it now or does something always seem to be in the way of achieving it?

I would like to share my story of finding my purpose, because I believe it is possible for all of us to know. However, if you don't yet have a clue, begin by seeking within your heart that which is joyful and true.

In 1974, I had succeeded on the typical path of purpose with a steady job, a wife and a beautiful daughter, a new home and car. I had created what I had been told would make a wonderful life. I played the role of good husband and hard worker. I lost all of this when my wife divorced me and took my child. I was left with a deep hole in my heart, bills I could hardly pay, and a mind that was so confused that I didn't know what I was doing. Within a few months I bought a motorcycle and ended up in a wreck that I should have died from. The near death experience was both disillusioning and opening.

Though I rarely read at the time, I devoured The Handbook to Higher Consciousness, given to me by a man passing through town. It became my "bible" for several years, awakening me to my purpose of giving unconditional love. In seeking new ways to express this love I joined a metaphysical school that I felt would let me grow more deeply into this purpose. Through the esoteric desciplines, right daily concentration and meditation, plus teaching, I began to visualize and take action. The 'inner work' proved most beneficial in helping create a deeper communication with my soul awareness, the real source of discovering purpose and inner strength.

My purpose became clear as I continued my education and practices, while becoming a well rounded teacher of metaphysics, mysticism, psychology, and self-improvement. All of this developed from a desire to be unconditional love and to attract supportive, disciplined teachers. My purpose expanded further as I started my own center and trained other teachers. This has remained my focus, as well as a profound and joyful experience, for the last 20 years.

There are a variety of choices for finding one's purpose; meditation, concentration, visualization followed by action, naming and facing the fears which impede your progress, creating spiritual alliances, or programs such as The Artist's Way.

The obvious choice at the SAE Center is the Metaphysics / Mysticism Course. In the first 10 lessons, your authentic Self and life purpose will become more evident as you create an inner spiritual foundation based on daily meditation and concentration practices. Empowering you to grow and find peace is the goal of our supportive teachers.

Don't wait; the time is now. Light, Love & Life...

Beginner's Mind by Lorraine May

"...the open mind, the attitude that includes both doubt and possibility,
the ability to see things always fresh and new. It is needed in all aspects of life..."

Shunryu Suzuki, in Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind

Nurturing Beginner's Mind in this Metaphysics Course has been extremely helpful for me in dealing with three challenges I shall call: the squeeze, the attachment / non-attachment delemma, and the question of why we do this work.

The squeeze... In When Things Fall Apart, Pema Chodron, an American Buddhist nun, describes the squeeze as that uncomfortable embarrassing place where we often give up. The teachings seem less inspiring; there is real work involved; the profound meanings elude us. We may even believe that amidst the pain and confusion of our personal lives, the teachings don't help. The squeeze, however, invites us to go beyond where we habitually panic, freeze, numb, run or avoid. The squeeze beckons us to experiment with different behaviour: to move through our pain by staying in a group, to face our fear by committing to a relationship, or to challenge the ego by remaining in this Metaphysics Course. The squeeze can remind us of who we are, wherever we are.

So ultimately, why do we continue to do this work? At some point we may have each begun the spiritual path for a different reason: curiosity, personal pain, service, community. Each student enters this Metaphysics Course with varied backgrounds and experiences, yet many find within themselves an even deeper commitment to the work. I believe, that as our hearts open, we feel more tenderness for all life. We realize that as we continue to do the work, we develop a capacity for intimacy and compassion so that we relate more deeply with all joy and all suffering. Pema Chodron believes, "Our motivation for practicing begins to change... it's not just for ourselves. It's for our companions, our children, our bosses - it's for the whole human dilemma."

I invite you to commit to the practical application of spiritual principles in your life through the inquisitiveness of Beginner's Mind.
